Research Interest: She came from England and served as a nanny fro a family in the San Francisco area. Sometime during her time in SF 1849-1854 she married James Sheppard Thornton. I have been unable to find a record or any proof of this marriage. The problem being th e earthquake and fire in 1906 which destroiyed many public records. She very possibly would have been married in an Epsicopal Church in the area. She had a son, George Quaife Thornton born in Dec 1853. He is my great-grandfather.
